How second-hand value is worked out
An item's second-hand value is what buyers are actually paying for it right now, in similar condition. The things that move it most are:
- Brand and model — the single biggest factor. A specific model name or number can double the value.
- Condition — "new with tags" sells for far more than "worn". Flaws should always be photographed and mentioned.
- Completeness — boxes, manuals, chargers, accessories and all the pieces in a set.
- Demand and season — coats sell in autumn, shorts in spring; trends come and go.
- Size — common sizes sell faster; very small or large sizes can be slower but sometimes command more.
Valuing items beyond clothing
Resale Checker isn't just for fashion. Electronics, cameras, video games, LEGO, vinyl records, books and kitchenware all have active second-hand markets — often on eBay rather than Vinted. For these, model numbers, working condition and completeness matter more than looks.
