US marketplace fees at a glance

MarketplaceSeller fees
eBay~13.25% of the total sale (most categories) + $0.30–$0.40 per order
Poshmark$2.95 on sales under $15; 20% on $15+ (buyer pays shipping)
DepopNo selling fee; 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing
Facebook MarketplaceNo fee for local pickup

Thrift flipping rules of thumb

Many US resellers use a "3x rule": only buy if it'll sell for at least three times what you pay. Because eBay and Poshmark take a large share, a $5 item selling for $15 on Poshmark leaves you about $7 profit — the calculator shows exactly where your line is.

For low-priced items under $15, Poshmark's flat $2.95 fee takes a big bite. Bundling or selling on Depop can be better value.
